Goodhue County is a naturally gorgeous place with dozens of parks, welcoming communities, and a thriving business community. Our county seat is established in Red Wing, MN but our County has nine other cities within our borders. Working closely with our partner government agencies, including the Prairie Island Indian Community, we strive to effectively promote the safety, health, and well-being of our residents.
With quick access to both the Twin Cities and Rochester, our County borders Dakota County to the north, Wisconsin on the northeast, Wabasha County on the east, Dodge/Olmsted counties on the south, and Rice County on the west. The Mississippi River and its enlargement, Lake Pepin, form our northeastern border and separate us from the State of Wisconsin.
With 47,582 residents we are the 20th largest county, out of 87, in the State of Minnesota.
