Seasonal Flu and H1N1 Flu

  • Goodhue Co. Public Health Service no longer has seasonal flu vaccine available. Check with your health care provider or go to www.mdhflu.com to find another flu clinic near you (for seasonal or H1N1 flu vaccine) and to see who should be vaccinated.  It's not too late to get a flu shot.  Flu season in Minnesota usually peaks between February and April.

  • Get vaccinated for H1N1!! Even though H1N1 illness is low right now, another wave is possible this winter or spring. By getting vaccinated, you can protect yourself and those in your community who are at risk of complications from the flu.  Past influenza pandemics have lasted up to 2 years with 2-3 waves of outbreaks. Goodhue County Public Health has H1N1 vaccine available at not charge to the public.  (see more)

  • What's the difference between the flu and the stomach flu?
Influenza is a respiratory virus that causes a fever, cough, achy muscles, tiredness.  It can lead to pneumonia or other problems. See the MDH fact sheet. Stomach flu can include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  It can be caused by a variety of viruses and bacterias.  The most common stomach flu being seen right now is norovirus.  Click here for information about norovirus.
