The Citizens Academy

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office will again be offering a Sheriff’s Citizens Academy.  The purpose of a Citizens Academy is to give the citizens of Goodhue County a working knowledge of the Sheriff’s Office; its personnel, policies, and procedures.  It consists of eight classes held once a week for three hours.  The instruction is comprehensive, covering a different area of the Sheriff’s Office each week.  Deputies, supervisors, other personnel with particular expertise in different sections of the Sheriff’s Office, as well as guest instructors, will conduct each instructional block.

The academy is free of charge and will take place Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  The starting date will be March 18th and run through May 6th.  The sessions will be held in Red Wing.  It is open to any resident of Goodhue County 18 years of age and older.
