Brian Coleman began his career in November of 1982 as a Jailer/Dispatcher for the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office. Was promoted to Head Jailer/Dispatch Supervisor in June of 1985 and became Wabasha County’s first Jail Administrator in 1992.
In 1994 Brian became a volunteer with the Lake City Ambulance Service and received instructor certifications in emergency medical techniques and taught emergency medical skills for various law enforcement and correctional departments and private industry in South East Minnesota.
In April of 2000 Brian was hired as the Program Coordinator for the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center providing programs and services for the detainee population of the jail. In June of the same year he was promoted to the rank of captain and became the Jail Administrator. Brian is a member and past president of the Sheriff’s 6th District Jail Administrators Association in South East Minnesota and sits on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Sheriffs Association Jail Division and is very active in the coordination and delivery of training to jails and corrections departments across the State of Minnesota.
