The Information Technology Department plans and provides for quality computing resources in order to support County departments in the areas of:
- Computer Systems Research and Implementation
- Computer Program Maintenance
- Computer Support Services
- Computer Operations
- Telephone Maintenance and Support
Goodhue County processes its information through a network of personal computers, server systems, and a large-scale IBM computer system.
The IT Department is in charge of all information processed through the network, which includes monitoring the systems, backing up data, and maintaining this website.
The IT Department supports employees in the use of many computer programs including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. It also prints numerous reports, checks, tax statements, and other specialized forms.
The Information Technology Director is an appointive position.
